REGULATORY LEADERSHIP

Graphene supplier

In most regions, the introduction of new chemical substances is controlled by national governments to ensure that the new substance does not have a negative impact upon the general population and the environment.

This typically requires submission of a detailed dossier on the new substance prior to listing upon an approved chemical register. Most jurisdictions require that nano-materials (where one dimension of the particle is less than 100nm) are considered as a new substance and a separate registration from the parent material is required.

PureGRAPH® graphene products have average thicknesses of less than 10nm and therefore require registration as a new substance. Lower quality graphitic products with particle thicknesses above 100nm could be commercialised as graphite and would not require a new product registration.

Graphene supplier

As an ethical supplier of graphene products; First Graphene acknowledges and supports the need for new substance registration which provides an opportunity to evaluate and confirm the safe use of our graphene products. The company’s approach is to work closely with regulatory bodies to ensure understanding and compliance with national requirements.

First Graphene is a member of the REACH consortium for graphene materials and PureGRAPH® graphene products are approved for manufacture or import within the European Union at 10 tonne/year. The company is currently working towards the 100 tonne/year band within the European Union.

PureGRAPH® is also registered for sales in Australia. Recent AICIS certification uniquely enables the company to manufacture and import graphene products in Australia. Registration of PureGRAPH® graphene products into the USA market is currently in progress.
