- Appointment of an industry specialist to accelerate PureGRAPH® sales into the cement and concrete sectors.
- Continuing to build the sales and marketing team to enhance penetration in global markets by employing personnel with strong credentials in a number of product verticals.
Pursuing the commercial development strategy of appointing specialist operators with detailed sector experience, First Graphene Limited is pleased to announce the appointment of Todd McGurgan as Commercial Manager for the Company’s continued focus on the cement and concrete sector.
With more than 25 years’ experience in the cement industry in Australia and abroad, Mr McGurgan brings a wealth of knowledge to First Graphene. Having recently spent 8 years with Holcim Australia & New Zealand, and before this with Cement Australia, BASF, Sunstate Cement and Readymix, Mr McGurgan comes well positioned to take PureGRAPH® to the global stage. The addition of Mr McGurgan as a Commercial Manager signifies the Company’s clear commitment to investing in the cement industry opportunity.
First Graphene recently announced the addition of the PureGRAPH® AQUA range of graphene additives to its offering portfolio. The pre-dispersed graphene provides materials handling benefits to the cement industry, and further reinforces First Graphene’s commitment to making the cement industry a key area of growth.
In a 2020 study, First Graphene’s PureGRAPH® products were successfully investigated by the ARC Graphene Research Hub at the University of Adelaide. The study assessed the influence of dosages and particle size of PureGRAPH® graphene on physicochemical, microstructural, and mechanical performance of Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC) cement mortars.
The results show the compressive strength increased by 34.3% and tensile strength by 26.9% when PureGRAPH® is added to cement mortar at very low levels of 0.07%w/w in the cement paste.
CEO, Michael Bell said “I would like to welcome Todd to the FGR team. He has come to FGR at an exciting time as we continue our growth and penetration into the cement and concrete sector. His experience will be valuable as we build on the exciting opportunities which PureGRAPH® AQUA will provide to the cement additive business.”
Mr McGurgan will commence with the Company next week.
